SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert Douglas "Rob" Aper of Normal, who
4passed away on January 24, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Aper was born on September 7, 1970 in
6Lincoln; his parents were Floyd and Gail Aper; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Robert Aper attended Illinois State University
8before enlisting in the United States Army; he subsequently
9served in Korea and in Operation Desert Storm; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After his discharge from the Army, Robert Aper
11served as a Corrections Officer for the McLean County Sheriff's
12Office; he also worked as a Firefighter in Normal for 17 years;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, Robert Aper served on the Board of the Bloomington
15Cardinals Youth Football League and was a member of the
16League's medical staff, where he helped create mandatory
17concussion testing for all football players; he helped in the
18library at Parkside Elementary School and served as a pin man
19for wrestling, handing out pins to the wrestlers for their
20achievements; he also coached the Bloomington-Normal Baseball
21Association for many years; and

1    WHEREAS, Robert Aper is survived by 2 sons, Wil and RJ; his
2parents; a brother, Lt. Col. Rick (Lori) Aper; his loving
3partner, Julie Hopper; 5 nieces and nephews, Ryan Aper, David
4Hanck, Kristin Aper, Kaylee Aper, and Michael Aper; and his
5partner's children, Jordan (Patrick Drumm) Burns, Kailey
6Burns, and Jake Correa; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert Douglas "Rob"
10Aper; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Robert Aper as an expression of our
13sympathy.
