SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Francis C. "Olie" Carlson of Peoria, who passed away on September 28, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Francis Carlson was born on July 6, 1918 in Joliet; his parents were Joseph and Mary Dolan Carlson; he married Frances Doolan on June 4, 1949; she preceded him in death on July 16, 1987; he married Faye Lightbody in 1988; she preceded him in death in 1993; and

WHEREAS, Francis Carlson honorably served in the United States Navy during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Francis Carlson worked for the United States Post Office as a postal clerk for many years until his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Francis Carlson was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances; his second wife, Faye; his parents; his son, Joseph Carlson; his 2 brothers; and his sister; and

WHEREAS, Francis Carlson is survived by his son, John F. Carlson; his granddaughter; his 3 grandsons; his great-granddaughter; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Francis C. "Olie" Carlson; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Francis Carlson as an expression of our sympathy.
