SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Henry L. "Hank" DeDecker of Silvis, who
4passed away on September 6, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Henry DeDecker was born on September 28, 1923 in
6Moline; his parents were Florimond Gustave and Emilie Marie
7Bousson DeDecker; he married Margaret Eggerichs on November 27,
81947 at St. Anne Catholic Church in East Moline; and
 
9    WHEREAS, After graduating from United Township High School
10in 1941, Henry DeDecker worked for the Moline Dispatch for
11several years before enlisting in the United States Navy during
12World War II; he served his country from 1943 to 1946; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Henry DeDecker worked for Prudential as an
14insurance salesman, retiring in 1985 after 35 years of service;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Henry DeDecker was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals
17fan; he also enjoyed fishing and was an avid golfer with many
18friends from Golfmohr Golf Course in Hampton; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Henry DeDecker served on the Hampton Township
20Board for many years and was an officer for the local

1Democratic Party; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Henry DeDecker was preceded in death by his
3parents; his wife, Margaret; and his brother, Lucien DeDecker;
4and
 
5    WHEREAS, Henry DeDecker is survived by his daughters, Jan
6(Jerry) Fisher, Mary (Paul) Bechtold, and Julie (Craig) Mumma;
7his sons, Jon (Nancy) DeDecker and David DeDecker; his
8grandchildren, Erik Fisher, Mark Fisher, Andrea DeDecker, and
9Kameron DeDecker; and his great-granddaughter, Olivia Fisher;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
13family and friends, mourn the passing of Henry L. "Hank"
14DeDecker; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Henry DeDecker as an expression of
17our sympathy.
