SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dennis L. Marion of Moline, who passed
4away on September 7, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dennis Marion was born on August 19, 1947 in
6Hedrick, Iowa; his parents were Harold and Wilma (nee Ackley)
7Marion; he married Laura Morford on September 6, 1967 in
8Moline; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dennis Marion served his country as a member of
10the United States Army for 3 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dennis Marion retired as a Senior Internal
12Consultant for John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline in
132001 after many years of service; during his years with the
14company, he worked as a production welder and union official;
15after retiring, he owned and operated Marion & Associates, a
16labor management consulting firm, and Marion Motor Sports; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dennis Marion was a member of United Automobile
18Workers Local 865; he was a past president and board member of
19the ILLOWA chapter of the Association for Quality and
20Participation and CEO of the Quad City Labor Management
21Council; and

1    WHEREAS, Dennis Marion enjoyed racing stock cars and
2go-carts and spending time with his family, especially his
3grandchildren; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Dennis Marion was preceded in death by his parents
5and his sister, Denise McCubbin; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Dennis Marion is survived by his wife, Laura; his
7children and their spouses, Shannon and Guy Morse, Nicole and
8Mike Melody, and Dennis Marion; his grandchildren, Dalton and
9Elizabeth Morse, Mackenzie and Hunter Melody, and Dennis
10Zachary and Riley Marion; and his sister and brother-in-law,
11Diana and Wiley Graham; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
14family and friends, mourn the passing of Dennis L. Marion; and
15be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Dennis Marion as an expression of
18our sympathy.
