SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

330 ILCS 56/30 new

Amends the Veterans Preference in Private Employment Act. Provides that on or before January 1, 2020, and on or before January 1 every 4 years thereafter, the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and the Department of Veterans' Affairs shall report to the Governor and General Assembly on the state of veterans' hiring by private employers.

AN ACT concerning military service.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Veterans Preference in Private Employment Act is amended by adding Section 30 as follows:

Sec. 30. Report. On or before January 1, 2020, and on or before January 1 every 4 years thereafter, the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and the Department of Veterans' Affairs shall report to the Governor and the General Assembly on the state of veterans' hiring by private employers.
