HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of James L. Hooten of Marion, who passed away on December 4, 2015; and

WHEREAS, James Hooten was born in Fort Madison, Iowa on August 15, 1924 to James M. and Verine (nee Peterman) Hooten; he married Letta Mae on October 19, 1946; and

WHEREAS, James Hooten served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific; and

WHEREAS, James Hooten enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, James Hooten was preceded in death by his wife, Letta Mae; his parents; his infant son, Leroy; and his brother, Robert; and

WHEREAS, James Hooten is survived by his children, Leanne (Ralph) Thompson, Dianne (Greg) Segers, Michael James (Monina) Hooten, Roxanne (John) Powers, and Kimberly (Mark) Bondzinski; several grandchildren; and a plethora of great and great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James L. Hooten, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Hooten as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
