HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, After 26 years of service, Honey Jacobs Skinner is
3retiring from her position as a Strategic Advisor and
4Consultant to the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital
5of Chicago (Lurie Children's), formerly known as Children's
6Memorial Hospital; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Honey Jacobs Skinner has served with remarkable
8effectiveness, great distinction, and honor in the field of
9healthcare, government relations, and legal services; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Honey Jacobs Skinner has been an indispensable and
11indefatigable advocate for Lurie Children's and for the health
12and well-being of children; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Honey Jacobs Skinner has fought tirelessly to
14protect access to care for all children, including those who
15lack resources, those insured by Medicaid, those that are
16immigrants, and children with medical complexity; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Honey Jacobs Skinner has staunchly advocated in
18support of the teaching, research, clinical, and advocacy
19pillars of Lurie Children's; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Honey Jacobs Skinner has had a direct and positive

1impact on the health and well-being of Illinois children by
2virtue of her advocacy efforts on behalf of Lurie Children's to
3prevent HIV/AIDS, obesity, injury, violence, and access to
4tobacco, to promote immunizations, access to mental health
5services, access to early intervention, and appropriate use of
6antibiotics to prevent antibiotic resistance, and to improve
7the lives of children affected by food allergies and
8anaphylaxis; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
10NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11we, along with Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of
12Chicago, her family, and her friends, thank and honor Honey
13Jacobs Skinner for her tireless and successful advocacy on
14behalf of the public interest and on behalf of Lurie Children's
15and extend our heartiest congratulations to her on the occasion
16of her retirement; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to Honey Jacobs Skinner and the Ann and Robert H.
19Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago as a symbol of our
20gratitude and greatest hopes on her future endeavors.
