HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Brenda Louise Davis, who passed away on September 26, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Davis was born on April 29, 1951 in East St. Louis; her parents were Odie F. George, Sr. and Marlene Lofton; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Davis was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Beacon Hill Retirement Home in Downers Grove and worked for many years as a caregiver; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Davis was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church of East St. Louis and was baptized at an early age; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Davis enjoyed traveling, making various crafts, and her plants; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Davis was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Charles L. Davis; and her brother, Eugene "Dicky" George; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Davis was the mother of Darren L. George (Laura), Carol C. Ammons (Aaron), and Svetlana "Pat" Moore; the grandmother of Titianna, Aeriel, Jelani, Zharia, Charity, Amir, Ebony, and Maya; the great-grandmother of Jalil; the daughter of Marlene Merchant; the sister of Odie F. George, Jr. (Christine), Marcia A. Bowman-Williams (Mack), Maxine Mitchell (Ricky), Freda T. George-Johnson (Van), Felicia R. George-Atkinson (Curtis), and Greta Hall (Charles); and the aunt of many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Brenda Louise Davis; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Brenda Davis as an expression of our sympathy.
