HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Carl Dean Edwards, who passed away on August 13, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Carl Edwards was born on September 7, 1940 in Saline County; his parents were William Earl and Madge (Stilley) Edwards; he married Marilyn (Sherrell) Edwards on February 3, 1964 in Marion; and

WHEREAS, Carl Edwards served as the Frankfort Township Highway Commissioner for 31 years; and

WHEREAS, Carl Edwards was a member of the Royalton Masonic Lodge, the Shriners, the West Frankfort Moose, Elks Club, the Fin and Feather Club, and the Republican Party; and

WHEREAS, Carl Edwards bought and sold horses all his life; he was an avid hunter and a kind master to his dog, Spanky; he also enjoyed attending gun and knife shows; and

WHEREAS, Carl Edwards was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Erlene Hitt; and a grandson, Clinton James Edwards; and

WHEREAS, Carl Edwards is survived by his wife, Marilyn; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Robin (Saulsbury) Edwards; 2 granddaughters, Abby and Kassy Edwards; a brother, Larry Edwards; a sister, Melba McBride; and an aunt, Nancy Baker; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Carl Dean Edwards; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carl Edwards as an expression of our sympathy.
