HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the members of the Marist Red Hawks softball team on the occasion of their victory in the IHSA Class 4A State tournament; and

WHEREAS, The Red Hawks defeated Lincoln-Way East 1-0 to achieve victory in the IHSA Class 4A State tournament; the team ended their season with a phenomenal 36-4-2 record; and

WHEREAS, This victory marks the Red Hawks' second State title in 4 years; the team also finished the season on an impressive 29-game winning streak; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Red Hawks are Hayley Franks, Jillian Kenny, Alexis Rogers, Vanessa Villasenor, Maggie Kehoe, Lizzie Annerino, Brooke Wilson, Emily Luzzo, Zariya Gonzalez, Paige Egan, Amanda McIlhany, Emily Reilly, Kara Apato, and Madison Naujokas; the team's head coach is Colleen Biebel and the assistant coaches are Ashley Barry and Nicole Costello; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Red Hawks serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Marist Red Hawks softball team on the occasion of their victory in the IHSA Class 4A State tournament and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Marist Red Hawks softball team as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
