HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Paul
4Arthur Walker of Ewing, who passed away on June 22, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Walker was born in Ewing on August 28, 1929
6to Mason and Wilma (Toombs) Walker; he married Ella Dillow on
7September 18, 1948; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Paul Walker served his country for 21 years in the
9United States Navy as a chief in aviation mechanics; he fought
10in the Korean War and made numerous cruises on board the USS
11Hancock, the USS Kitty Hawk, and the USS Bennington; he also
12taught mechanics to air crewmen at Coronado Island, California;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, After retiring, Paul Walker worked for PSA
15Airlines as a mechanic and at Hughes Tool Factory, both in
16California; he and his wife moved back to Ewing in 1976 and
17opened a welding shop; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Paul Walker served as the mayor of Ewing for 14
19years and as a deacon at Ewing Baptist Church; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Paul Walker was preceded in death by his parents;

1his son, Arthur Dale Walker; his 4 sisters; and his 4 brothers;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Paul Walker is survived by his wife of 66 years,
4Ella; his sons, Michael (Wanda) Walker and Robert (Patricia)
5Walker; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces,
6nephews, cousins, and great friends; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
9mourn the passing of Paul Arthur Walker, and extend our sincere
10condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
11him; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Paul Walker as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
