HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Lanetta Smith, who passed away on January 6, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Lanetta Smith was born in Chicago to Lavelle Campbell and Shirley Walls; she attended Near North Career Magnet High School and studied at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Moraine Valley College, where she obtained her Journeyman Electrician Certification; she married Darryl Smith; and

WHEREAS, Lanetta Smith was an active member of her community; her children's education was extremely important to her and she was a member of the PTA and Suder Montessori; and

WHEREAS, Lanetta Smith was affectionately known as "Net"; and

WHEREAS, Lanetta Smith is survived by her mother, Shirley Walls; her husband, Darryl Smith; her sons, Jake (Daniel), Dominique, Christopher, Justus, Darryl, Michael, and Ascher; her daughters, Diamond, Charity, Arete, Maya, and Ashari; her sister, Tracy Campbell; her special friends, Mother Estella Timms, Keteena Owens, Veronica Smith, and Natalie Kidd; and a multitude of family and friends too numerous to list; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lanetta Smith, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lanetta Smith as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
