HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Steven McNeill, formerly of Herrin, who passed away on May 1, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Steven McNeill was born in Herrin on December 30, 1960 to Donald Henderson and Elizabeth Lorraine (nee Witzel) McNeill; he married Teresa Ensinger in Mexico on June 30, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Steven McNeill was a longtime area jeweler and owned and operated Diamond Designs in Marion since 1997; and

WHEREAS, Steven McNeill was a longtime member of the Marion Chamber of Commerce; he was a former Boy Scout leader and remained active in the organization; he was also an advocate for the Poshard Foundation and Pat's Kids; and

WHEREAS, Steven McNeill enjoyed entertaining people and cooking for family and friends; he also enjoyed scuba diving and traveling all over the world, especially to his favorite spot, the Isla Mujeres in Mexico; and

WHEREAS, Steven McNeill was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Mark Allen McNeill; and

WHEREAS, Steven McNeill is survived by his wife, Teresa; his 7 children, Liz McNeill (Jason Miller), Jami Mazurek (John), Patrick McNeill, Molly McNeill (Christian Thomas), Cody Webb, Nathan Webb (Sierra), and Ryan Judd; his 3 grandchildren, Jobe and Josie Miller and Rylynn Mazurek; his sister, Dawn Marie McNeill; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Steven McNeill, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Steven McNeill as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
