HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Steven
4McNeill, formerly of Herrin, who passed away on May 1, 2015;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Steven McNeill was born in Herrin on December 30,
71960 to Donald Henderson and Elizabeth Lorraine (nee Witzel)
8McNeill; he married Teresa Ensinger in Mexico on June 30, 2012;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Steven McNeill was a longtime area jeweler and
11owned and operated Diamond Designs in Marion since 1997; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Steven McNeill was a longtime member of the Marion
13Chamber of Commerce; he was a former Boy Scout leader and
14remained active in the organization; he was also an advocate
15for the Poshard Foundation and Pat's Kids; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Steven McNeill enjoyed entertaining people and
17cooking for family and friends; he also enjoyed scuba diving
18and traveling all over the world, especially to his favorite
19spot, the Isla Mujeres in Mexico; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Steven McNeill was preceded in death by his

1parents and his brother, Mark Allen McNeill; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Steven McNeill is survived by his wife, Teresa;
3his 7 children, Liz McNeill (Jason Miller), Jami Mazurek
4(John), Patrick McNeill, Molly McNeill (Christian Thomas),
5Cody Webb, Nathan Webb (Sierra), and Ryan Judd; his 3
6grandchildren, Jobe and Josie Miller and Rylynn Mazurek; his
7sister, Dawn Marie McNeill; and several nieces and nephews;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
10NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
11mourn the passing of Steven McNeill, and extend our sincere
12condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Steven McNeill as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
