HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Southeast Environmental Task Force (SETF) on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of its founding; and

WHEREAS, SETF was founded in 1989 to stop a garbage incinerator from being built on the Southeast Side of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, SETF was incorporated in 1994 and has since become a leading organization dedicated to contaminated wetland restoration and ecologically sustainable brownfield redevelopment and to promote pollution reduction investments in communities and waterways; and

WHEREAS, SETF continues to function on a voluntary basis to fight environmentally destructive land use; and

WHEREAS, SETF will be celebrating its anniversary with a banquet on January 24, 2015; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Southwest Environmental Task Force on its 25th anniversary, and wish them many more years of success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the SETF as an expression of our esteem and respect.
