HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Paxton lost a beloved member of their community with the passing of 26-year-old Clayton Lee Hale on February l2, 2015, following several courageous battles with cancer; and

WHEREAS, Clayton Hale was born on August 26, 1988 in Gibson City to Larry and Diana Eppelheimer Hale; and

WHEREAS, Clayton Hale graduated from Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School, where he was a member of the school's Future Farmers of America chapter; he began working for True Value Hardware Store in Paxton during his senior year of high school, a job he held until 2013; and

WHEREAS, Clayton Hale was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Paxton; and

WHEREAS, Clayton Hale was a very positive, happy person who touched the lives of so many; and

WHEREAS, Clayton Hale loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing; and

WHEREAS, Clayton Hale was fascinated by trains and enjoyed spending much of his free time on the City of Paxton's walk bridge over the Canadian National Rail Road tracks where family and friends say he loved to watch the trains and feel the breeze beneath him as they passed; and

WHEREAS, The Paxton City Council is renaming the walk bridge over the railroad tracks 'Clayton's Bridge' in memory of Clayton Hale and the inspiring and courageous way he battled obstacles in his life; and

WHEREAS, Clayton Hale is survived and missed by his parents; his brothers, Jade Tavenner and Corey (Dawn)Tavenner; his maternal grandmother, Mildred Eppelheimer; and his paternal grandmother, Lena Camp; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we join the Paxton community in celebrating the life of Clayton Hale and the renaming of the walking bridge in his memory; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Clayton Hale as a symbol of our sympathy and respect.
