HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Richard L. "Rich" Hampton of Virden, who passed away on November 29, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Richard Hampton was born in Jacksonville on May 31, 1949; he married Joan L. Centko on August 17, 1973 in Virden; and

WHEREAS, Richard Hampton served in the United States Air Force for much of his life; he retired from the Air National Guard as a 1st Master Sergeant in 2004, after 31 years of service; upon his retirement, he worked as a paramedic in the surrounding communities with Boyd Healthcare Services and Greene County Ambulance Service; and

WHEREAS, Richard Hampton enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Richard Hampton was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Richard Hampton is survived by his wife, Joan; his son, Eric A. (Julie Williamson) Hampton; his granddaughters, Aby E., Karleigh I., and Clayre N. Hampton; his sister, Dorothy (Joseph) Chalmers; his brother, Leonard (Marsha) Hampton; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard L. "Rich" Hampton, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Hampton as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
