HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the members of the Morton High School Boys Golf Team on the occasion of their unbelievably successful 2014 season; and

WHEREAS, The team finished 15-1 in dual matches, and had a list of 1st place finishes including: the Metamora Invitational, the Dunlap Shootout, the Canton Invitational, and the Monmouth Invitation; and

WHEREAS, In the regular season conference matches, the team had an impressive record of 7-0 and ended conference play by also winning the Mid-Illini conference tournament; and

WHEREAS, The team capped off its season with a victory resulting in the Boys 2A Golf State Championship; and

WHEREAS, Tommy Kuhl, a freshman on the team, was an individual State champion; and

WHEREAS, The coaches are Jamie King, head coach, and Jake Tierney, Assistant Coach; and

WHEREAS, The varsity team members are: Senior Aaron Osing; and State qualifiers: Senior Trevor Tompkins; Juniors Pete Kuhl and Jack Zem; Sophomore Adam Christianson; and Freshmen Tommy Kuhl and Isaac Ingold; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Morton High School Boys Golf team serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Morton High School Boys Golf Team on the occasion of winning the Boys 2A Golf Championship and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Morton High School Boys Golf Team as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
