HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Tolono Fire Protection District on the occasion of the opening of its new fire station; and

WHEREAS, The new fire station is located on North Bourne Street in Tolono; and

WHEREAS, Construction began on the new fire station in August of 2014 and was completed in January of 2015; it was built without State or federal funding and replaced an older station that had been in use for 60 years; and

WHEREAS, The new fire station is more than double the size of the old station and should serve the district for decades to come; and

WHEREAS, The Tolono Fire Department was formed in 1888 and became a fire protection district in 1995; and

WHEREAS, A public dedication ceremony and open house will be held on March 29, 2015; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Tolono Fire Protection District on the opening of its new fire station; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Tolono Fire Protection District as an expression of our esteem and respect.
