HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Jessica Buckner on the occasion of her retirement as a member of the School District 151 Board after 15 years of dedicated service; and

WHEREAS, Jessica Buckner was appointed to the School District 151 Board in November of 2000 after serving in many positions in School District 151 since 1968; and

WHEREAS, During her 15 years on the Board, Jessica Buckner served as president for 4 years and served as chair of the Goals Committee and Policy Committee; she also served on the Building Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Personnel and Awards Committee; and

WHEREAS, Jessica Buckner was a member of the Strategic Planning Committee since its inception; the Strategic Planning Committee was instrumental in updating and expanding many facilities, including the Barack Obama Learning Center - a partnership facility library attached to Coolidge Middle School; and

WHEREAS, Jessica Buckner served as a mentor for many new Board members and represented the Board at the monthly South Holland Business Association meetings for many years; she also attended all school programs faithfully and also represented the Village of Phoenix at many functions and events; and

WHEREAS, Jessica Buckner was honored by School District 151 with the dedication of the Jessica Buckner Administration Center in recognition of her service to the District; and

WHEREAS, Jessica Buckner has served as a dedicated and tireless servant to the parents and students of School District 151 for 47 years; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Jessica Buckner on the occasion of her retirement and wish her continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Jessica Buckner as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
