HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate La Grange Police Chief Renee Strasser on the occasion of her retirement on January 1, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Chief Strasser is a 27-year veteran of the La Grange Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Chief Strasser joined the La Grange Police Department in 1989 as a patrol officer; she was promoted to Sergeant in 1999, to Lieutenant in 2009, and to Deputy Chief in 2014; and

WHEREAS, Chief Strasser attended the FBI National Academy in 2011 in Quantico, Virginia; she was awarded a First Responders Grant in 2008 to attended Benedictine University, where she earned a master's degree in management and organizational development; and

WHEREAS, Chief Strasser grew up on Chicago's South Side; she majored in criminology and psychology at Indiana State University on an athletic scholarship for softball; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate La Grange Police Chief Renee Strasser on her retirement, and we wish her the best in all her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Chief Strasser as an expression of our esteem and respect.
