HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Bill Puhse and Amy
4Heath on receiving the 2016 Best School Blood Drive Coordinator
5Award on behalf of the Illinois Coalition of Community Blood
6Centers; and
 
7    WHEREAS, As co-sponsors of the Granite City High School
8National Honor Society, Bill Puhse and Amy Heath have been
9organizing blood drives since 2009; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Bill Puhse and Amy Heath,
11two blood drives are held at the school each year and two
12additional drives are held in the community; their efforts to
13reach more donors including many parents and alumni, have been
14very successful; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Bill Puhse and Amy Heath's 27 blood drives have
16resulted in the collection of nearly 3,000 units of blood,
17which have the potential to save 12,000 lives; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Due to the hard work of Bill Puhse and Amy Heath,
19high school blood drives will continue to play a critical role
20in cultivating lifetime donors; and

1    WHEREAS, Bill Puhse and Amy Heath were nominated by the
2Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center as the 2016 "Best
3School Blood Drive Coordinators" in a statewide competition
4hosted by the Illinois Coalition of Community Blood Centers;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
8commend Bill Puhse and Amy Heath for their commitment to ensure
9a healthy blood supply in their community; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
11presented to Bill Puhse and Amy Heath as an expression of our
12esteem and respect.
