HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize the 40th anniversary of the founding of Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital on October 11, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital has been named one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals by Truven Health Analytics seven times; it is the only health care organization in the nation to earn the prestigious 2010 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award; and

WHEREAS, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital serves as DuPage County's only Level I trauma center and is a certified Level III neonatal intensive care unit; the hospital also has been redesignated as an American Nursing Credentialing Center Magnet hospital - the nation's highest designation in nursing excellence; and

WHEREAS, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital is part of Advocate Health Care, the largest health system in Illinois and one of the largest health care providers in the Midwest; and

WHEREAS, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital has over 2,700 nurses, clinicians, technicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, who partner with 1,000 physicians to provide some of the best healthcare in the country; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the 40th anniversary of the founding of Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, and we wish it many more years of success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital as an expression of our esteem and respect.
