HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Calhoun High School softball team, the Warriors, on winning the 2016 Illinois High School Association Class 1A Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Warriors won their second consecutive State title with a 3-0 victory over the Princeville Princes at the Eastside Centre in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, The championship win followed a semifinal game that was scoreless for 16 innings; and

WHEREAS, A large contingent of Warrior fans made the trip to Peoria and began the celebration back in Hardin; the Warriors rode through town on a fire truck upon arriving in Hardin and a celebration rally was held for the team at the Knights of Columbus Hall; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Calhoun High School softball team, the Warriors, on winning the 2016 Illinois High School Association Class 1A Championship, and we wish them many more successful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Warriors as an expression of our esteem and respect.
