SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

25 ILCS 5/3.2 new

Amends the General Assembly Organization Act. Limits the number of committees for the House of Representatives to 20. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The General Assembly Organization Act is amended by adding Section 3.2 as follows:

(25 ILCS 5/3.2 new)

Sec. 3.2. House committees. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the number of committees for the House of Representatives shall be determined by the rules adopted by the House of Representatives; however, the number of committees for the House of Representatives shall not exceed 20.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
