SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
605 ILCS 135/15

    Amends the Task Force on Sustainable Transportation Funding Act. Provides that the Task Force shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly by May 1, 2015 (rather than June 1, 2015). Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning transportation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Task Force on Sustainable Transportation
5Funding Act is amended by changing Section 15 as follows:
 
6    (605 ILCS 135/15)
7    (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2016)
8    Sec. 15. Duties; report.
9    (a) The Task Force shall:
10        (1) analyze the current trends between the
11    infrastructure needs of Illinois and the revenue received
12    from federal and State gas taxes and the level of highway
13    and road investment that would reduce congestion, keep
14    Illinois' economy competitive, and keep drivers safe;
15        (2) research and recommend possible alterations and
16    alternatives for how to modernize the State of Illinois'
17    system of financing maintenance, improvements, and
18    expansion of its public infrastructure systems, including,
19    but not limited to, best practices in other states,
20    user-based alternatives, or other equitable and
21    sustainable methods for funding transportation;
22        (3) make recommendations to the Department of
23    Transportation regarding how to implement possible

1    alterations or alternatives; and
2        (4) submit a report of its findings and recommendations
3    to the General Assembly by May June 1, 2015.

5    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
6becoming law.
