SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jeffrey Scott Newyear of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who passed away on May 23, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Newyear was born on September 22, 1959, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Newyear graduated from Carmel High School; he subsequently attended Gateway College, where he took techniques of supervision courses; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Newyear served his country with pride as a member of the U.S. Army from 1981 to 1983; he served in Europe as a machine cell technician and held numerous supervisory positions; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Newyear was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, NASCAR, and the Chicago White Sox; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Newyear was preceded in death by his father, Dean Newyear; his grandparents, Raymon and Helen Birky; and his great-grandparents, Richard and Reba Sleyster and Sam and Anna Birky; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Newyear is survived by his mother, Betty Rae (Kaiser) Loren Stried; his uncles, Robert (Rosanna) Birky and Richard (Janet) Sleyster; his step-siblings, Ron Kaiser (Kim), Kathie (Steven) Ames, Gary (Darlene) Kaiser, Tim Kaiser (Sheila), and Frankie Kaiser (Liane); and his many cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Jeffrey Scott Newyear; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jeffrey Newyear as an expression of our sympathy.
