SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Felix Thompson Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Felix Thompson Jr. was born on June 11, 1950; his parents were Leela and Felix Thompson Sr.; and

WHEREAS, Felix Thompson Jr. was the first born of four children and came to be the ultimate big brother; he was taught from an early age by his father to protect his family, which he did faithfully; following his father's untimely death, he served as the patriarch of his family; he was also known for his great commitment to his friends; and

WHEREAS, Felix Thompson Jr. enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being surrounded by his loved ones; and

WHEREAS, Felix Thompson Jr. was preceded in death by his father, Felix Thompson Sr.; and

WHEREAS, Felix Thompson Jr. is survived by his longtime friend and loving wife, Karen Bussell; his mother, Leela; his children, Felisha, Robin, Jermaine (Tiesha), Rosie, Charity, and Christopher; his sisters, Theodoria and Brenda; his brother, James; his many nieces and nephews; his life brothers, Keevan Griffin, Lamont Malcolm, and Willie Cook; his adopted sister, Sharon Collins; and his 12 grandchildren and two great-nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Felix Thompson Jr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Felix Thompson Jr. as an expression of our sympathy.
