HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Jewish B2B
4Networking Organization for their continued service to the
5small business community, the Village of Skokie, and the
6citizens of Skokie; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Small businesses represent 99.7% of all employer
8firms in the United States, employ just over half of all
9private sector employees, and pay 44% of the total U.S. private
10payroll; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Unemployment currently averages 9.1%,
12representing over 13 million Americans that are out of work and
13are seeking work; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Jewish B2B Networking, under the direction of Mr.
15Shalom Klein, was founded in June of 2010 to connect and
16empower small businesses, service the needs of individuals in
17transition, and develop programming that has successfully
18brought together thousands of individuals; Jewish B2B
19Networking has put 109 people to work in this tough economic
20climate; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Over 3,000 people have participated in networking

1sessions, educational programming, and other services through
2Jewish B2B Networking; the organization is currently assisting
3almost 600 job seekers in updating their resumes; and
 
4    WHEREAS, The State of Illinois remains committed to
5economic development, bringing new businesses to our State, and
6creating an environment that is friendly to small businesses,
7which make up 98% of Illinois employers; and
 
8    WHEREAS, 2,864 business networkers attended Jewish B2B
9Networking's free business and employment expo, The Business
10Event, which was held in Skokie on August 25, 2011; the event
11is dedicated to assisting small business owners and job
12seekers; and
 
13    WHEREAS, George Van Dusen, Mayor of the Village of Skokie,
14proclaimed that date of August 25, 2011 as The Business Event
15Day; and
 
16    WHEREAS, The Business Event will be held again in 2012 and
17is expected to draw over 5,000 attendees; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20we congratulate the Jewish B2B Networking Organization and
21commend them for the excellence they have achieved; and be it

2    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3presented to Mr. Shalom Klein, Director of the Jewish B2B
4Networking Organization, as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
