HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Amy Zisook on the occasion of her 50th birthday; and

WHEREAS, Amy Zisook was born to Lois and Edmond Zisook on April 19, 1961, at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, and joined her sister, Ellen, in the family; and

WHEREAS, Amy Zisook attended John F. Kennedy Elementary School and Edgewood Junior High School in Highland Park before graduating from Highland Park High School in 1979; she subsequently graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, earning her degree in finance in 1983; and

WHEREAS, Amy Zisook developed a love of politics and government at an early age, beginning with volunteer work for State Representative Grace Mary Stern; while in college, she volunteered for Paul Simon's first campaign for the United States Senate and was hired upon graduation as a fundraiser for the campaign; she continued her fundraising work in Illinois for Adlai Stevenson III, Richard Durbin, Dawn Clark Netsch, Martin Oberman, and Paul Simon's run for the Presidency in 1988, among others; and

WHEREAS, Amy Zisook started her own firm, Amy Zisook and Associates in Chicago and raised funds for numerous non-profit organizations, including the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs and the Chicago Bar Association; and

WHEREAS, In 1992, Amy Zisook went to Arkansas to raise funds for Governor Bill Clinton's run for the presidency; she then went to Washington D.C. to become a Special Assistant to President Clinton upon his election; and

WHEREAS, Amy Zisook served as Vice President of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, in charge of civic and government affairs; she has been an active civic volunteer in Highland Park for the Lincoln School PTA and other charitable organizations; she is now the Development Director for the Highland Park Community Family Center; and

WHEREAS, Amy Zisook is married to David Rosen; she is the mother of Sarah Rosen and the step-mother of Jordan and Robert Rosen; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Amy Zisook on the occasion of her 50th birthday and wish her continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Amy Zisook as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
