1 HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, During the 96th General Assembly, the School
3 Success Task Force was established pursuant to House Joint
4 Resolution 5 for the purpose of examining issues and making
5 recommendations related to current State Board of Education
6 policies regarding suspensions, expulsions, and truancies and
7 identifying different strategies and approaches, promoting
8 professional development and other learning opportunities, and
9 supporting community-based organizations and parents; and

10     WHEREAS, Further work is needed on these issues; therefore,
11 be it

12     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13 NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE
14 SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that the School Success Task Force is
15 extended; and be it further

16     RESOLVED, That one member representing City of Chicago
17 School District 299 and appointed by the State Board of
18 Education is added to the School Success Task Force; and be it
19 further

20     RESOLVED, That the School Success Task Force shall submit a
21 report, as established in its authorizing resolution, before

1 December 31, 2012; and be it further

2     RESOLVED, That with this reporting extension and
3 additional member, the School Success Task Force shall continue
4 to operate pursuant to its enabling resolution; and be it
5 further

6     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 delivered to the State Board of Education.
