SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of George William Rose of Coal Valley, who passed away on November 5, 2019; and

WHEREAS, George Rose was born in Moline to John T. and Bertha I. (Howell) Rose on November 26, 1949; he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1969 and married Linda Lindstrom in Moline on April 3, 1971; and

WHEREAS, George Rose was employed with the Illinois Department of Transportation as a lead worker out of the Silvis Yard for over 30 years; in his younger years, he was a part-time farmer; and

WHEREAS, George Rose was a former commander with Orion American Legion Post #255, where he was on the Honor Guard; he was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Orion; he was an avid hunter and taught hunter safety; he enjoyed watching the QC Thunder, Bulls, Cubs, and Bears; he also played the guitar and piano; and

WHEREAS, George Rose was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Jennifer L. Miller; and

WHEREAS, George Rose is survived by his wife, Linda; his siblings, Donald Rose, Steve (Karen) Rose, Marcia Rose (Robert) Hayd, and Janet (Pat) Parson; his granddaughter, Alyssa McCorkle; and his son-in-law, Gerald M. Miller Jr.; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of George William Rose and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of George Rose as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
