SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John Richard "Jack" Daniels, who passed away on July 12, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Jack Daniels was born in Moline to Charles and Norma (Meinert) Daniels on October 23, 1940; he served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis; and

WHEREAS, Jack Daniels retired in 1990 as a supervisor from the former John Deere Malleable in East Moline; following his retirement, he worked several years at Ron's Town Liquor in East Moline; and

WHEREAS, Jack Daniels enjoyed woodworking and working with his hands; he also enjoyed fishing, antiquing, attending estate sales, and collecting John Deere memorabilia; and

WHEREAS, Jack Daniels was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Delores Henderson, Marilyn Bloomquist, James Daniels, and Carl Daniels; and

WHEREAS, Jack Daniels is survived by his children, Julie (Richard) Hampton and Jon (Ray) Daniels; his companion, Betty Kraemer; his stepchildren, Zachary Kraemer, Crystal (Richard) Dhamers, Becca (Martin) Sandidge, and Scott Daniels; his grandson, Derrick Cullison; his great-grandchildren, Paisley, Lincoln, Wesley, Brayden, Ryley, Tiffany, and Marty; his siblings, Leoria Denato, Dorthea Jamieson, Charlotte (Arnold) Frank, Betty (Gary) Welch, Shirley (Robert) Bonnett, Linda Bacus, and Charles (Joan) Daniels; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John Richard "Jack" Daniels and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jack Daniels as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
