SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Anthony Pianezza of Springfield, who passed away on July 4, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Anthony Pianezza was born to Pino and Esta Maria (Campagna) Pianezza on February 8, 1947; he graduated from Griffin High School and then served in the U.S. Air Force; he later graduated from the University of Illinois in Springfield, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Management; he married Emma Giancarli in 1979; and

WHEREAS, With his father and brother, Anthony Pianezza was part owner of Roma bakery for over 30 years, proudly serving central Illinois with deliciously iconic Italian bread; and

WHEREAS, Anthony Pianezza enjoyed fishing and flying and was an avid reader; and

WHEREAS, Anthony Pianezza was preceded in death by his parents and his wife; and

WHEREAS, Anthony Pianezza is survived by his sons, Patrick Pianezza and Paul (Lexx) Pianezza; his grandson, Kitt; and his brother, Louie Pianezza; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Anthony Pianezza and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Anthony Pianezza as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
