HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Illinois has dedicated itself to the promotion of good will among mankind and to the betterment of all persons in each city and community in which they exist; and

WHEREAS, This year on the North American continent, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows will commemorate their 200th anniversary as well as celebrate the 183rd anniversary of continual good works in the great State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, The Independent Odd Fellows of Illinois has touched nearly every community throughout this great State through their generous contributions, scholarships, and benevolent care of the elderly and youth; and

WHEREAS, April 26 is the date of the birth of the Odd Fellows 200 years ago; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we declare the week of April 21-27, 2019 as Independent Order of Odd Fellows Week; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Grand Lodge of Illinois Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
