SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lois Marie Meehan of Bunker Hill, who passed away on November 24, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Lois Meehan was born in New Berlin to Anton Mullink and Kathryn (Sneeringer) Mullink of September 9, 1923; she was the oldest of 12; she married Thomas David Meehan Jr. on August 30, 1945; and

WHEREAS, Lois Meehan was the owner and operator of Meehan's Grocery Store; and

WHEREAS, Lois Meehan was a former member of St. Mary's Church, Bunker Hill; she was a member of St. Ann's Altar Society and Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Bethalto; and

WHEREAS, Lois Meehan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas; her brothers, Harold Mullink, Leonard Mullink, James Mullink, Thomas Mullink, and Frank Mullink; and her sisters, Zella Rhoades and Betty Scott; and

WHEREAS, Lois Meehan is survived by her children, Judy (Barry) Steinberg, Nancy (Ron) Bray, Thomas (Karen) Meehan III, Pat (Glenda) Meehan, and Mike (Crystal) Meehan; her 16 grandchildren; her 19 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Gene (Marie) Mullink, Alice (Allan) Greeling, Jane Diestelhorst, and Ruth Ann Beiermann; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lois Marie Meehan and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lois Meehan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
