SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lois Marie Meehan of Bunker Hill, who
4passed away on November 24, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lois Meehan was born in New Berlin to Anton
6Mullink and Kathryn (Sneeringer) Mullink of September 9, 1923;
7she was the oldest of 12; she married Thomas David Meehan Jr.
8on August 30, 1945; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Lois Meehan was the owner and operator of Meehan's
10Grocery Store; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Lois Meehan was a former member of St. Mary's
12Church, Bunker Hill; she was a member of St. Ann's Altar
13Society and Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Bethalto; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lois Meehan was preceded in death by her parents;
15her husband, Thomas; her brothers, Harold Mullink, Leonard
16Mullink, James Mullink, Thomas Mullink, and Frank Mullink; and
17her sisters, Zella Rhoades and Betty Scott; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Lois Meehan is survived by her children, Judy
19(Barry) Steinberg, Nancy (Ron) Bray, Thomas (Karen) Meehan III,
20Pat (Glenda) Meehan, and Mike (Crystal) Meehan; her 16

1grandchildren; her 19 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Gene
2(Marie) Mullink, Alice (Allan) Greeling, Jane Diestelhorst,
3and Ruth Ann Beiermann; and her many nieces and nephews;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Lois Marie Meehan and extend our sincere condolences to her
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Lois Meehan as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
