SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard Raymond "Rich" Alfano of Augusta, Georgia, formerly of Waukegan, who passed away on September 6, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Rich Alfano was born in Waukegan to Rose D. and John T. Alfano Sr. on June 10, 1945; he served in the United States Army Reserves from 1969 until 1971; and

WHEREAS, Rich Alfano worked at G.D. Searle for 20 years; after his retirement, he worked part-time in the pro-shop at Green Meadows Golf Course; and

WHEREAS, Rich Alfano was an avid golfer who loved to be on the course with his friends; he was also a devoted and loving father and grandfather; and

WHEREAS, Rich Alfano was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John J. Alfano Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Rich Alfano is survived by his daughters, Michele (Joseph Lowery) Fanning and Debbie (Chad) Thompson; his grandchildren, Matthew Fanning, Avery Thompson, and Addison Thompson; his sisters, Carol Turk and Better Seger; and his nephews, Dean, Scott, and Ken Seger; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard Raymond "Rich" Alfano and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rich Alfano as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
