SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Helen I. Clark of Gurnee, who passed away on April 11, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Helen Clark was born in Cloquet, Minnesota to Samuel and Lillian Harju on December 27, 1923; her family moved to Waukegan, and she graduated from Waukegan High School and later from business college; and

WHEREAS, Helen Clark worked at Abbotts for many years; after raising her children, she worked at SEDOL; and

WHEREAS, Helen Clark was an active charter member of Wildwood Presbyterian Church; she was also a member of Eastern Star, the American Legion, the Farm Bureau, and the Home Extension; and

WHEREAS, Helen Clark was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; and her brother, Ray; and

WHEREAS, Helen Clark is survived by her children, Doug, Terry, and Jeff; and her several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Helen I. Clark and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Helen Clark as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
