SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael Jennings, who passed away on March 9, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Michael Jennings was born on February 14, 1931 in Alton; his parents were George and Grace (nee Gunterman) Jennings; he married Katherine Girard on September 7, 1957 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton; and

WHEREAS, After graduating from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1954, Michael Jennings went to work at the Upper Alton Pharmacy and St. Joseph's Pharmacy before retiring from St. Clare's Pharmacy; and

WHEREAS, Michael Jennings was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton and St. Vincent Paul Society for 40 years; and

WHEREAS, Michael Jennings is survived by his wife, Katherine Jennings; his children and their spouses, Diane and John Luthi, Mary and Rick Sackman, Michael Jennings, Ellen and Rob Wingert, and Tommy Jennings; and his grandchildren, Katie Jennings, Amanda Jennings, Katelyn Luthi, and Ben Sackman; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Michael Jennings; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Jennings as an expression of our sympathy.
