SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jeannine Ingram (nee Willis) Burger of
4Elgin, who passed away on February 8, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jeannine Burger was born in Melrose Park on May 8,
61929 to Elna Fran and Donald Reiter Willis; she attended Beloit
7College in Wisconsin and graduated from the University of
8California, Berkeley; she married Dr. George VanderKarr
9Burger; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jeannine Burger was a member of First
11Congregational Church of Elgin, and in 2001, she and her
12husband, were inducted into the Elgin Area Hall of Fame for
13contributing to the history and heritage of the area through
14the years of collecting and organizing church records; she was
15also a member of the Tri Delta sorority, a 60-year member of
16the Daughters of the American Revolution, and an active
17genealogist, having been a charter member and officer of the
18Elgin Genealogical Society; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jeannine Burger was preceded in death by her
20husband, and by her sister, Mary Ellen Willis; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Jeannine Burger is survived by her daughters,

1Suzanne (James) Campbell, Christine (Gary) Rice, and Nancy
2Smith, and by her grandchildren, Christopher Campbell and Sarah
3and Andrew Rice; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Jeannine Ingram Burger, and extend our sincere condolences to
7her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Jeannine Burger as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
