SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Diane Shogren of Ingleside, who passed away on February 5, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Diane Shogren was born in DeKalb on April 29, 1962 to Allen and Bette (nee Oster) McCowan; she attended elementary and high school in Lockport and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northern Illinois University in 1984; she married Steven Shogren in Kildeer on November 6, 1987; and

WHEREAS, Diane Shogren began her career at West Suburban Hospital before working for over 20 years at Good Shepherd Hospital; and

WHEREAS, Diane Shogren enjoyed camping, volleyball, bowling, and golfing; she was an avid reader and liked to solve puzzles; and

WHEREAS, Diane Shogren is survived by her husband of 26 years, Steven; her children, Jessica Larsen, Jordan Shogren, and Tyler Shogren; her mother, Bette McCowan; her father, Allen (Nancy) McCowan; her sister, Cathy (Oliver) Brandt; her brothers, Richard (Roberta) McCowan and Don (Kathy) McCowan; her step-sister, Amy (Mike) Steffgen; her step-brother, Andrew (Andrea) Fry; her sisters-in-law, Lynette (Don) Tillis, Susan (George) Marotta, and Mary Shogren; her brothers-in-law, Donald (Judy) Shogren and John Shogren; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Diane Shogren, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Diane Shogren as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
