SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Denny Ayala of St. Charles, who passed away on January 18, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Denny Ayala was born on September 18, 1921 in Round Rock, Texas; his parents were Simon and Augustina Ayala; he grew up in Geneva and graduated from Geneva High School; and

WHEREAS, Denny Ayala served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Denny Ayala was employed at Elgin Community College for over 27 years until his retirement in 2012; and

WHEREAS, Denny Ayala was a devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where he was known for opening the door for daily Mass each morning for over 42 years; and

WHEREAS, Denny Ayala was preceded in death by his loving wife; his son, Denny, Jr.; his daughter, Susan; and his great-grandson, Blake; and

WHEREAS, Denny Ayala survived by his children, Larry (Ettie) Ayala, Linda (Edward) Peterson, Anita Ayala, Darlene (Bob) Stellwagen, Diane (Dale) Wilderspin, Gary (Maureen) Ayala, Rita (David) Cuevas, Denise Service, and Joseph (Chris) Ayala; his 22 grandchildren; his 26 great-grandchildren; his 2 great-great-grandchildren; his sisters, Cora (Jesse) Ramariz and Mary McNally; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Denny Ayala; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Denny Ayala as an expression of our sympathy.
