SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Wilfred "Bill" Dean Ethell of Athens, who passed away on February 24, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Wilfred Ethell was born on June 4, 1929 in Greene County; his parents were Emmons and Bessie Parkin Ethell; he married Lola Young on June 5, 1948 in Athens; and

WHEREAS, Wilfred Ethell was a life-long farmer south of Athens until his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Wilfred Ethell was an active member of the Athens Christian Church, serving his calling as a treasurer, Deacon, Elder, and any place he was needed; and

WHEREAS, Wilfred Ethell was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Fritz, Mike, Robert "Bob", and Eldon "Cap" Ethell; his sisters, Bernice Walker and Gladys Johnson; and his grandson, Evan; and

WHEREAS, Wilfred Ethell is survived by his wife, Lola; his sons, Larry (Debbie) Ethell and Garry (Janet) Ethell; his daughter, Judy (Robert) Ethell-Glatz; his grandchildren: Ryan, Erik, Erin, Jennifer, Elise, and Kalab; his great-granddaughters, Alex, Lauren, Avelyn, and Brynlee; his great-grandsons, Dominic, William, Pete, Jeret, Landon, Kalab Jr., and Chad; his brother, Emmons "Jack" (Betty) Ethell; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Wilfred "Bill" Dean Ethell; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Wilfred Ethell as an expression of our sympathy.
