SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Charlotte M. French of Bartonville, who passed away on February 21, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Charlotte French was born on May 13, 1943, in Lewes, Delaware; her parents were George and Evelyn Uphoff Walley; she married Roger D. French on August 27, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada; and

WHEREAS, Charlotte French was employed for the Kroger Company for several years; she also owned and operated her own beauty salon; and

WHEREAS, Charlotte French was a member of Bartonville Christian Church; and

WHEREAS, Charlotte French enjoyed traveling, collecting sand and seashells, nature, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Charlotte French is survived by her husband; her children, Marty (Cathy) Knowles, Teresa Knowles, and Jason French; her 8 grandchildren; her 7 great-grandchildren; her sister, Wanda (Kermit) Rippey; her uncles, Roland (Barbara) Uphoff, Wendell (Wanda) Uphoff, and Marvin (Opal) Uphoff; her aunt, Lucille Bruce; and her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Charlotte M. French; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Charlotte French as an expression of our sympathy.
