SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Patricia Colleen Wannemacher of
4Bloomington, who passed away on December 24, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Patricia Wannemacher was born in Bloomington on
6March 17, 1931 to William and Louise (nee Erhmantraut) O'Neil;
7she married Louis J. "Jerry" Wannemacher on February 5, 1951;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Patricia Wannemacher, along with her husband,
10operated Wannemacher Electric, Inc., where she served as
11President; she was active in the McLean County Electrical
12Contractors Association, President of the Illinois Association
13of Women Contractors and Entrepreneurs, and President of the
14United Private Industry Council; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Patricia Wannemacher was active in civic affairs;
16she was elected to the McLean County Board and was the first
17woman President of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce and
18served many years on its board; she co-chaired the McLean
19County 21st Century Committee, was a board member of the
20Illinois Wesleyan Associates, and was a life-member of the
21BroMenn Service League; and

1    WHEREAS, Patricia Wannemacher was the recipient of several
2honors; she was in the first class of the YWCA's Women of
3Distinction Award, was an honorary member of Laborers
4International Union of North America through Bloomington Local
5362, and was recently selected as a "History Maker" by the
6McLean County Museum of History; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Patricia Wannemacher was preceded in death by her
8husband, Louis; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Patricia Wannemacher is survived by her children,
10Steve (Deb) Wannemacher, John (Sally) Wannemacher, Jo Ann
11(Michael) Reidy, and Karen (Brett) Arseneault; her 8
12grandchildren; and her 7 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Patricia Colleen Wannemacher, and extend our sincere
16condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
17her; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Patricia Wannemacher as an
20expression of our deepest sympathy.
