SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Carl R. Vandenberg of Tinley Park; and

WHEREAS, Carl Vandenberg served his country as a member of the United States Army's Graves Registration Service during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Carl Vandenberg was the founder and owner of Vandenberg Funeral Homes; and

WHEREAS, Carl Vandenberg was a member of the Tinley Park Lions Club, the Fr. C.C. Boyle Knights of Columbus Council 4698, the St. Francis Hospital Advisory Board, and many organizations throughout the south suburbs of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Carl Vandenberg enjoyed spending his summers in Sister Lakes, Michigan and his winters holding court at the Chickee Bar in Naples, Florida; he also enjoyed watching his grandchildren's events; and

WHEREAS, Carl Vandenberg was the beloved husband of the late Jean Vandenberg (nee Hickey); the loving father of Carl (Deborah), Kirk (Ray Jaskot), Mark (Rhonda), Gary (Bobbie Halminiak), and Scot (Patricia); the proud and caring papa of Christopher, Anne-Marie, Jacob (Carrie), Joshua, Brianne, Trace, Carly, Kayla, and Trevor; and the cherished great-grandpa of Oliver; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Carl R. Vandenberg; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carl Vandenberg as an expression of our sympathy.
