SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James "Jim" Andrew Stupar of Hawthorn Woods, who passed away on January 30, 2014; and

WHEREAS, James Stupar was born on April 19, 1958 in Waukegan to George and Carol Stupar; he graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1979 and married Kathy Lockwood in Crystal Lake on June 23 that same year; and

WHEREAS, James Stupar spent 30 years with Hollister Incorporated in Libertyville, most recently working as a Corporate Officer and as Vice-President of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa; as part of his career, he and his wife spent time living in Melbourne, Australia and London, England; and

WHEREAS, James Stupar had a passion for music and started playing piano at an early age; he composed numerous songs, including several that were to be part of an opera; in 1998, he co-wrote and produced a CD and launched a website to support the efforts of musicians with ALS; and

WHEREAS, James Stupar was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Stupar; and

WHEREAS, James Stupar is survived by his wife, Kathy; his son, Ben (Anne); his granddaughter, Sofie; his father, George; his brothers, Jeff (Teresa) and David (Elizabeth); his mother-in-law, Judy Lockwood; his sister-in-law, Koleen Janquart; his brother-in-law, Craig (Anna) Lockwood; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James "Jim" Andrew Stupar, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Stupar as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
