SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James "Jim" Andrew Stupar of Hawthorn
4Woods, who passed away on January 30, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Stupar was born on April 19, 1958 in
6Waukegan to George and Carol Stupar; he graduated from the
7University of Illinois at Chicago in 1979 and married Kathy
8Lockwood in Crystal Lake on June 23 that same year; and
 
9    WHEREAS, James Stupar spent 30 years with Hollister
10Incorporated in Libertyville, most recently working as a
11Corporate Officer and as Vice-President of Europe, the Middle
12East, and Africa; as part of his career, he and his wife spent
13time living in Melbourne, Australia and London, England; and
 
14    WHEREAS, James Stupar had a passion for music and started
15playing piano at an early age; he composed numerous songs,
16including several that were to be part of an opera; in 1998, he
17co-wrote and produced a CD and launched a website to support
18the efforts of musicians with ALS; and
 
19    WHEREAS, James Stupar was preceded in death by his mother,
20Carol Stupar; and

1    WHEREAS, James Stupar is survived by his wife, Kathy; his
2son, Ben (Anne); his granddaughter, Sofie; his father, George;
3his brothers, Jeff (Teresa) and David (Elizabeth); his
4mother-in-law, Judy Lockwood; his sister-in-law, Koleen
5Janquart; his brother-in-law, Craig (Anna) Lockwood; and many
6nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9James "Jim" Andrew Stupar, and extend our sincere condolences
10to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of James Stupar as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
