SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Vernon J.M. "Monty" Johnson, II of Peoria, who passed away on January 30, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Vernon Johnson, II was born on September 19, 1975 in Peoria to Vernon and Gaye (nee McCreary) Johnson; he attended Manual and Notre Dame High Schools and married Ashley Loving in 2012; and

WHEREAS, Vernon Johnson, II worked as an over-the-road truck driver, last working for O'Brien Steel; and

WHEREAS, Vernon Johnson, II enjoyed playing football, bowling, swimming, traveling, and watching movies; and

WHEREAS, Vernon Johnson, II was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and

WHEREAS, Vernon Johnson, II is survived by his wife, Ashley; his parents; his daughters, Jasmine Robinson, Briana Johnson, Keamber Harden, and Taylor Loving; his sons, Cedric Smith, Terry (Liz) Little, Jordan Robinson, Vernon Johnson III, and Ian Loving; his granddaughter, Jordyn; his previous wife, Stephanie Johnson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extend family; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Vernon J.M. "Monty" Johnson, II, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Vernon Johnson, II as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
