SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert Edward Rhead of Woodstock, who passed away on January 4, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Robert Rhead was born on April 25, 1943 in Monterey Park, California; his parents were Richard and Agnes (nee Haskell) Rhead; he married Beverly M. Stone on August 23, 1964 in Yucca Valley, California; and

WHEREAS, Robert Rhead was a member of the Woodstock Assembly of God Church for over 32 years and served as the church's secretary and treasurer for over 27 years; he was also the head of the church's Grands Ministry; and

WHEREAS, Robert Rhead coached basketball for the Woodstock Christian School, having led his team to the championship game; he also coached a little league baseball team; and

WHEREAS, Robert Rhead grew up in the desert climate and enjoyed going rock climbing and catching lizards and snakes; he also enjoyed playing games that challenged the mind, especially Sudoku and jigsaw puzzles, and gardening; and

WHEREAS, Robert Rhead was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Robert Rhead is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Beverly M. Rhead; his daughter, Kimberly (A. Bradley) Sass; his grandchildren, Chad Sass and Sarah Sass; his great-granddaughter, Hailee Sass; his brother, Richard (Dety) Rhead; his sister, Ann Conzelman; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert Edward Rhead; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Rhead as an expression of our sympathy.
