SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James P. Tentes of Waukegan, who passed
4away on October 2, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Tentes was born on February 5, 1925 in
6Waukegan; he married Betty (nee Fliftcroft) on March 16, 1946
7in Waukegan; and
 
8    WHEREAS, James Tentes attended Waukegan High School; and
 
9    WHEREAS, James Tentes served his country as a member of the
10United States Army; and
 
11    WHEREAS, James Tentes worked as a union pipefitter and was
12a member of Local 597; he was also the owner of Tentes Heating
13Company and Janis Cleanerama; and
 
14    WHEREAS, James Tentes was a member of Waukegan's St. Mark's
15Lutheran Church and a founding member of the Waukegan
16Historical Society; he also sang and toured with the Sibelius
17Choir of Chicago and many other choirs; and
 
18    WHEREAS, James Tentes enjoyed being a member of several
19local bowling leagues; he also enjoyed fishing and hunting at

1his cabin in Watersmeet, Michigan and traveling around the
2world with his wife; and
 
3    WHEREAS, James Tentes was preceded in death by his parents,
4Peter and Mae (nee Karry) Tentes, and his brother, George; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Tentes is survived by his wife of 67 years,
6Betty; his brothers, Tony and Charles; his sister, Elaine; his
7children, Philip (Rosemary), Edward (Judith), and Thomas; his
8grandchildren, Korey, Ryan, Aimee (Steve), Jacqueline (Tim),
9Peter, and Patrick; his great-grandchild, Piper Charlotte; and
10his many nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
13family and friends, mourn the passing of James P. Tentes; and
14be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of James Tentes as an expression of our
17sympathy.
