SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John P. Karner, who passed away on December 2, 2013; and

WHEREAS, John Karner proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army's 11th Airborne Division as a parachutist and gliderist; and

WHEREAS, John Karner was the loving husband of Dolores (nee Perez) for 60 years; he was also the dear father of Lynn, Loren (Patricia), John (Debbie), Steve, and Karen (Bob) Bauer and the cherished grandfather of John (Sarah), Paul, Luke, Sarah, James, Michael, Matthew (Kristi), Natalie, Evan, and Eric; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of John P. Karner; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Karner as an expression of our sympathy.
